Preparing to speak at the 2015 Museums Association of Montana conference in Billings, and getting way too excited about it.

I* get bored doing one thing.

So, I play guitar, write and sing songs, visit museums, and spend my free time mapping out my family tree. Did you know my ancestor Edward Doty went down in history as the first man in Plymouth Colony to spend a night in the stocks for starting a sword fight in the town square? True story.

I'm from New York City originally, but I currently reside in Butte, Montana (Butte America). How I got here is a whole other story... but the short version is that I fell for a mountain man. I received my B.A. in American Studies from Skidmore College and my M.Phil in Public History and Cultural Heritage from Trinity College Dublin. Since 2015, I have served as the Curator and Program Manager of the Historic Clark Chateau and Board Secretary of The Root & The Bloom Collective in Butte.

At the Chateau, I lead youth programs, curate exhibits, give tours, mop floors, host lectures, write grants, and attempt to maintain order in the midst of indescribable chaos. In my free time, I write music, make jewelry, create collage art and crochet. I also consume massive amounts of television, music, literature and film (like the media addict I am), and then attempt to justify it by declaring that I’m really just interested in the intersection of popular culture and academia.

Other interests include: American social mythologies, alternative education, singing in public, playing with large dogs, and making history FUN.
